Cebu City in the Top Five Most Livable Highly Urbanized City in the Philippines. Well, that’s according to a writer Harold Geronimo from Manila Standard. Probably, just an opinion from a lifestyle columnist without a thorough survey, but the mere mention in itself is already a feat for Cebu City and the Cebuanos.

Cebu City ranked 5th in a list of five cities. Davao City got the highest rank.

As the most progressive city in the South, Cebu City has become an alternate choice to those who want to veer away from the very congested Metro Manila life. As most residents say: “Cebu is like Manila minus the super heavy traffic and pollution.” As the Queen City of the South, Cebu has a good blend of history, culture and a booming economy. Amid its fast-paced economic progress, the city still exudes its rich cultural and historical heritage. It remains to be one of the country’s top business and tourism destinations in terms of the number of visitor arrivals. It has the second busiest airport in the country with regular international flights from South Korea, Hong Kong, Qatar and Singapore.

Citta Di Mare means City by the Sea – perfect name for this residential project.

The tunnel was temporarily opened, and will be closed again. I’ve read in the forums that it will be reopened on November, not entirely sure about this.

The length of the tunnel is about 800 meters. The longest in the Philippines?

Cebu Normal University Mural

I was planning to go to Robinson’s in the Uptown area. I was walking in an alley going towards Pelaez St., and when i was there, I saw the mural paintings that adorned the fences of Cebu Normal University. I did not pass up the chance to record the work of art, so i had to get my Nikon D40 out.

Colon Street

Colon Street, the oldest street in the Philippines.

Sorry, just few photos, it’s not easy taking photos in the Colon area. This was taken during Christmas.

According to the plaque plastered in one of the building in the historic street:

Colon Street known also as The Parian, is the oldest street in the Philippines. It was built by the Spaniards who arrived at Cebu in 1565 on the fleet composed of the vessels San Pedro, San Pablo and San Juan under the command of Miguel Lopez de Legaspi.

Fronting Gaisano Main is University of the Visayas.

University of the Visayas, the number one in Basketball, hehehe.

Flame It Burgers and Sausages is probably the best tasting burger in the Philippines and is found only in Cebu.

Jollibee, McDonalds, Burger King and Hotshots just would not cut it.

I was riding a friend’s van, so i grabbed the chance to take photos of the streets of Labangon. It’s not easy taking pictures especially if i don’t have my own car, a photographer is vulnerable to thieves and snatchers.
